Chase Freedom or Freedom Unlimited?

I’m torn between the Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited and want to hear people’s opinions on either card. What are some of the pros and cons of each one?

Both the Chase Freedom and the Freedom Unlimited are similar–they both offer 0% APR for the first 15 months, have the same cash bonus of $200 if you spend $500 in three months, and it doesn’t have an annual fee.

I think the thing to think about would be the rewards. Chase Freedom allows you to earn 5% cash back on a certain category, while Freedom Unlimited is 1.5% cash back on all categories. If you use the card to buy just one category, the Chase Freedom would probably have a higher return, but if it’s a card for a bunch of things, then Freedom Unlimited is probably better.

Both the cards are very similar in terms of APRs, cash bonus, and annual fees, whereas the rewards rates are different for both. Chase Freedom Unlimited offers 1.5% cash back on every purchase and Chase Freedom offers 5% cash back on purchases in the specified rewards category, 1% cash back on all other purchases.
